Would YOU Follow YOU?

“You are lucky you have a job!” “If you don’t want to do it, I’ll find someone who can!” “You know there are ton of people who’d love to have your job!” “Maybe you’re not the best qualified for this job, after all!”

These types of comments at the workplace are becoming more and more common as the pool of job-seeking candidates gets larger and larger. But, what do these comments achieve other than dishearten the employee and create a toxic work environment? Leaders, before you open your month, think about the damage your words may cause. If you want a team that trusts you, and is wiling to follow you, ask yourself….. the way you are leading… would you? Would you stick around if all you hear from your boss is what you are not doing right and how quickly you can be replaced? Choose your words wisely as every word counts and every word is powerful. Before you know it, you will cultivate an A-Team that will be devoted to you and willing to do whatever it takes to achieve the company’s goals. So take a look at your leadership style, and if how you treat people is not something you’d like in your own leader, then focus within and see what you need to change.
