There comes a time in one’s life that one starts wondering what is the purpose of all the hustle and bustle. Why run around like a chicken with its head cut off, always rushing, running from one quest to another, from one responsibility to another…what for? Why should you be so stressed about a job, a position, a relationship, a status in life, the type of car you drive, or the clothes you wear when in the end, all that matters is survival?
Our main need in life is food, shelter, and love. That’s it. All of the other materialistic things that we run after don’t even matter, really. What difference does it make if you are driving a Toyota versus a Cadillac? Won’t both wheels take you where you want to go? What difference does it make if you live in a mansion or a small house. Won’t both protect you from the rain and the heat of the sun? And what difference does it make if you’re wearing Prada or regular clothes. Won’t they both keep you warm? You are probably thinking, yes but Prada clothes would be nicer, or a Cadillac is more comfortable, or a mansion is more spacious… but I still say, does that matter? Really?
If you are faced with a catastrophic event in your life, nothing would matter except your health and happiness. SO, stop stressing about unnecessary trivial things that you want to have because society has created that expectation to determine one’s value. You can always strive for more, but never forget to appreciate and enjoy what you have now.
